Pinkalicious

Last year this little girl requested a pink birthday cake and a Minnie Mouse theme. This year's request...pink cake and a Pinkalicious theme. Hmmm I think I'm catching on to a theme of...PINK!!!! If you have never heard of Pinkalicious (an adorable children's book) then you must not have a preschool daughter/niece/granddaughter.  The story is about a little girl who eats too many pink colored cupcakes and then she turns PINK! She is thrilled by this but then finds out to turn back to her normal self she must eat only green foods, YUCK! Well I hope no one turns pink after eating these delicious pink (or should I say Pinkalicious) cupcakes. Happy birthday Lily!

Vanilla cupcakes colored PINK, buttercream frosting, white pearl sprinkles, fondant cherries.

An Aspiring Ballerina

Oh to be able to move gracefully and elegantly... Well not for me anyway.  I was blessed with the ability to bump, crash, or just about fall doing anything.  This cake was made for a beautiful young lady turning 12.  Gabby is an aspiring ballerina and very dedicated to her dancing.  So this is what we came up with.

8" Chocolate cake covered with marshmallow fondant and fondant decorations.

Minnie Mouse

My daughter is in LOVE with all things related to Mickey Mouse.  So after a lot of persuasion on my part to have an Elmo party (her second love) and her insisting on Minnie Mouse, I caved. But I'm glad I did because Minnie mouse is such a FUN theme for a little girl! We had a pin the bow on Minnie Mouse game, Minnie Mouse pinata, lots of pink decorations, and of course Minnie Mouse cake and cupcakes! I also made Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears for the kids to wear but can't find the picture of the adorableness to share.  Here is the link I used to make mine: http://www.thesuburbanmom.com/2010/06/16/how-to-make-mickey-minnie-mouse-ears-for-a-party/.  She even gives a template for cutting out the felt.  A lot of work but they turned out adorable and my sweet Ava loved her ears! Happy second birthday my sweet and spunky Ava!

We Have Ears say Cheers!

 Meeska, Mooska, Mickey Mouse!

These adorable Mickey Mouse cupcakes were made for a very special birthday boy!  After a trip to Disneyland and meeting Mickey Mouse all he wanted was a Mickey Mouse birthday.  Hope you had a wonderful 3rd birthday Kyler!

Let Down Your Hair and Have Some Fun

This cake was designed for my daughter's 5th birthday party.  She wanted a party themed around one of her favorite Disney movies, Tangled.  She really wanted a tower on her cake and of course Maximus, her favorite character.  The tower is made of yellow cake covered in fondant, the bottom two tiers are chocolate cake frosted in buttercream frosting, the birthday girl's favorite.

Firetruck Birthday

What little boy wouldn't want a firetruck themed birthday?  That is exactly what Kai had for his 3rd birthday! This cake was completely edible and the colors were coordinated to match Kai's invitations.  The inside of the cake was marbled with yellow and orange to have the effect of fire. Hope you enjoyed your special day Kai!

Butterflies, Ladybugs and Dragonflies...Oh My!

Turning 5 is a very BIG deal and should be celebrated in a very special way!  This cake was designed around the theme of a garden/bug party (absolutely adorable idea for a party by the way).  The cake needed to include the color pink (birthday girl's favorite color) and bugs of course.

Party fit for 2 Princesses

These beautiful princess cakes were designed by hand for twin sisters, I mean princesses.  We wanted to make sure each little princess felt special and recognized on her very important day so we designed one cake for each little girl.

Spongebob with Crabby Patties

We had another request for that loveable yellow sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea and loves his crabby patties, Spongebob!  These crabby patties were complete with bun, lettuce, cheese, and of course crabby patty.  The cake was a chocolate cake covered with buttercream and the cupcakes were decorated with delicious buttercream frosting.  The whole cupcake was completely edible and adorable.

"Gnome" Cake Quite Like This One

I just finished my very first gnome cake.  Yes that's right I said gnome cake.  I recently had a very interesting request for a gnome birthday cake and I have to admit I was a little nervous at first.  I wasn't sure how I was going to pull this idea together, but after all is said and done I am very happy with the results.  Jodi and Jeff, hope you all enjoyed the cake!

12 inch round cake, iced with buttercream frosting, covered in marshmallow fondant, completely edible

The little Gnome hats were an inspiration from Gnomeo & Juliet

This was a cake for an adult so we added a few adult beverages  for this gnome to enjoy.

All the flowers were handmade and added to give the affect of a garden.
The Gnome was hand made, sculpted with cereal treats and covered with fondant.

Mickey Mouse

Meeska, mooska, Mickey Mouse!  A Disney themed birthday party calls for a very special cake.

Tinkerbell Cake

A little faith, trust, and pixie dust helped make this cake happen.  Okay well maybe not the pixie dust.

Castle Cake

Every little girl dreams of being a princess, living in a beautiful castle in a kingdom far, far away.  Well this little girl is a princess in her parents' eyes and they wanted her to have that beautiful castle for her birthday.

Batman AND Sonic

When you are 5 years old you know what you like and what you don't like.  Well this little birthday boy knew he wanted to have a Batman and Sonic the Hedgehog cake.  He was not about to settle for just one or the other so we had to come up with a way to combine both of his beloved characters.

Dinosaurs!!!

Little boys love dinosaurs!  They are mysterious creatures that fill the imaginations of children so of course we have tried to capture that in requests for birthday cakes.

This particular birthday boy requested specifically to have a blue T-Rex.

"Tangled" in FUN

Little girls all dream of being a princess. And Disney has introduced all of us to a new princess, Rapunzel. My daughter has fallen in love with this movie and so when I was asked to do invitations for a Tangled themed birthday party I was excited!

Minnie Mouse

This custom party was inspired by an adorable mouse, Minnie Mouse!  The birthday girl specifically asked for a Minnie birthday party after returning from her trip from Disneyland.  So the creative wheels began to turn.  First came the adorable invitations.  They were 5 1/2 inches and handcrafted.  We wanted to have a coordinating birthday banner but the facility where the party was held prohibits hanging items in the party room.  Boo!  But we were able to customize a special cake that did coordinate with the theme and invitations.  It HAD to be pink per the request of the birthday girl.  Too cute!

The invitations were approximately 5 1/2 inches.

Custom Cake!  White cake (colored pink), butter cream frosting, and marshmallow fondant) Yum!

Dr. Seuss Party

Turning One is so much fun!  Especially if when it is themed around the beloved Dr. Seuss characters.  This party was for a little girl's first birthday!  The invitations and birthday banner were handcrafted to match the theme of the the party.  The cake was custom made as well, One Fish Two Fish book.  Outside was decorated with balloons and characters from different Dr. Seuss stories.  Turquoise and red colored balloons, candy, table cloths, and even birthday outfits and hair ribbons tied everything together.  A fabulous party to celebrate turning one!

The invitation opened like a book and included the rhyming phrases.
The front of the invitation when closed.

We also made a highchair banner that matched the birthday banner.

AND of course the Custom Cake

Birthday banner complete with Cat in the Hat images.

Cowgirl Party!

This party was a Cowgirl Themed Party inspired by Jessie and Woody from Toy Story.  The birthday banner and invitations were handmade and coordinated with matching scrapbook paper.  The cake was a carousel cake with Jessie and Woody as decorative keepsakes for the birthday girl.  The party also had wanted posters for each of the birthday girl's friends that attended the party and one for her sister. What a fun theme for a little girl's party!
