Chessboard Cake

A friend asked me to make a chessboard cake for her son who is a very talented young man and a champion chess player.  After a lot of research on chessboards and their details I had an idea of what I wanted to do.  The cake is completely edible.  The chess pieces are made of solid chocolate and the cake is chocolate cake with butter cream frosting and fondant details.  Happy birthday Jack!

    Not only did this cake look amazing, it was the best tasting cake we have ever had! My son was shocked that he could actually eat the chess pieces AND the chess clock! Not shown on this photo are all 32 chess pieces that were made. Each child got a piece of cake and a chess piece. Will definitely be ordering my cakes from Krystle from now on. Thank you!!!
